Rooivalk
I have finished working through all the pictures and have also uploaded a video I made of the South African Rooivalk performing a 360 loop at the AAD 2006:
I want to share some of the pictures and stories about life in Cape Town, South Africa.

Wonderful video. You were very lucky to attend the airshow.
Hi to the guys from Enemy Down. Hope you enjoy the video. The chopper is 100% South African. I don't think anyone told them that it is not supposed to be able to perform a loop. ;)
Sorry to burst your patriotic bubble but it's made from the ITALIAN A129.
Anonymous, I have just done a quick Google and found this discussion: http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=57701&page=2
Where they discuss the differences between the helicopters. I see that A129 was a European developed product while the Rooivalk was a South African product. I could not find any indication that the one was based on the other.
Do you have you any reference material?
The A129 was operational since 1983, a decade earlier than the Rooivalk.
The fact is that the Rooivalk out-runs, out-climbs, out-manoeuvres and out-guns the A129. Furthermore, the Rooivalk has a more advancaed HUD look-and-shoot, fly-by-wire tech. It also has more airtime. Check the manufacturers websites for specs.
Idiot the rooivalk is 100% South African....was developed by Denel....if you are so smart please supply some facts....Cause you definitely abit of an idiot...I even know some of the people that use to work on that project, they now work for BAE.
Please dont post something if you cant back it up idiot.
Rooivalk has nothing to with the a129 the cloest helcopter would the tiger but the rooival is 110% SA
I was the Project Manager on the TDATS (optics) of the AH-2 helicopter up to 1992. We designed the system at Kentron (now part of Denel with a few bits sold to Carl Zeiss of Germany). The Rooivalk was entirely designed in South Africa. Some specialised components did come from Europe or Asia but you could not even show me a single modern car where this is not the case.
Suspect that this is another case of hidden racism (I am as white as you can get) where people from the so-called first world do not accept that anything this sophisticated and capable could come out of Africa.
